Sue Ross Legal is assisting our client, a highly regarded specialist Clinical Negligence law firm, in recruiting an experienced Clinical Negligence Costs Solicitor / Negotiator on a permanent basis, either full-time or part-time.

The successful applicant will become a core member of a knowledgeable and supportive team, providing expert costs advice while working closely with fee-earners and the accounts team.

  • Drafting and preparing Bills of Costs for Clinical Negligence matters.

  • Preparing comprehensive Replies to Points of Dispute.

  • Negotiating costs settlements with opposing parties.

  • Managing costs budgeting, including creation and updating of budgets.

  • Issuing and overseeing costs proceedings.

  • Advocacy where required (desirable but not mandatory).

  • Offering guidance and support to fee-earners on all costs-related issues.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in Clinical Negligence costs work, including negotiations and Points of Dispute.

  • Ability to handle a diverse caseload independently.

  • Exceptional written communication and analytical abilities with strong attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of costs budgeting and assessment procedures.

  • Comfortable liaising with solicitors, counsel, and clients.

  • Proficiency with case management systems and digital billing platforms.

  • Collaborative team player with enthusiasm to contribute to the broader success of the firm.
