Part-Time Marketing Manager – MedTech Startup Opportunity

My client is an innovative medical technology spinout from the University of Southampton, founded by experienced scientists and entrepreneurs with a proven track record in the healthcare sector. They have created a breakthrough microfluidic diagnostic test that reduces antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) from over 48 hours to just 3 hours—helping healthcare professionals combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR), a growing global challenge responsible for more than a million deaths each year.

They are now seeking a part-time (15–20 hours per week) Marketing Manager to shape and deliver the company’s complete marketing strategy. This role comes at an exciting time as the business prepares for a UK product launch in 2025, followed by international expansion into the US in 2026/27.

Who this role is designed for:

We’re looking for a skilled, hands-on marketing professional with strong experience in diagnostics, ideally within Pathology or Microbiology.

You are likely to:

  • Hold a solid academic background (2:1 degree or above) in a relevant subject such as Life Sciences, Biomedical Science, or Marketing with a MedTech focus

  • Have proven success in B2B healthcare or diagnostics marketing, especially product launches

  • Be adaptable to a dynamic, fast-moving startup culture where innovation and quality are key

  • Be a proactive self-starter, confident in working independently while coordinating with different stakeholders

  • Have excellent communication skills, capable of writing scientific marketing content and managing external partners

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and execution of the company’s marketing strategy across multiple platforms

  • Manage campaigns including digital content, PR, KOL engagement, webinars, exhibitions, and industry events

  • Oversee the creation of marketing materials such as website content, LinkedIn updates, brochures, press releases, and technical documentation

  • Collaborate with internal teams (Business Development, Engineering, Operations) and external vendors, printers, and event partners

  • Take ownership of all pre-launch and launch marketing initiatives

Why this role is unique:

  • Meaningful Impact – Contribute to solving one of the most pressing global health issues: antimicrobial resistance

  • Innovative Product – Support the launch of a diagnostic solution set to change hospital testing pathways worldwide

  • Expert Team – Work alongside medtech leaders with successful startup experience in both the UK and Silicon Valley

  • Flexible Work Setup – 15–20 hours per week with the freedom to adapt around your lifestyle

  • Modern Workplace – Based at a brand-new facility in Whiteley, Hampshire

Benefits:

  • 27 days annual leave (pro rata, with increases over time)

  • Flexible hours

  • Supportive and entrepreneurial team culture

Location & Accessibility:

The office is based in Whiteley, Hampshire, with easy travel links from Southampton, Portsmouth, Bournemouth, Poole, West Sussex, and nearby regions.

If you’re ready to play a pivotal role in bringing a transformative diagnostic technology to market, apply today and help shape the future of healthcare innovation.
