My client is an innovative medical technology spinout from the University of Southampton, founded by experienced scientists and entrepreneurs with a proven track record in the healthcare sector. They have created a breakthrough microfluidic diagnostic test that reduces antimicrobial susceptibility testing (AST) from over 48 hours to just 3 hours—helping healthcare professionals combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR), a growing global challenge responsible for more than a million deaths each year.
They are now seeking a part-time (15–20 hours per week) Marketing Manager to shape and deliver the company’s complete marketing strategy. This role comes at an exciting time as the business prepares for a UK product launch in 2025, followed by international expansion into the US in 2026/27.
Who this role is designed for:
We’re looking for a skilled, hands-on marketing professional with strong experience in diagnostics, ideally within Pathology or Microbiology.
You are likely to:

Hold a solid academic background (2:1 degree or above) in a relevant subject such as Life Sciences, Biomedical Science, or Marketing with a MedTech focus

Have proven success in B2B healthcare or diagnostics marketing, especially product launches

Be adaptable to a dynamic, fast-moving startup culture where innovation and quality are key

Be a proactive self-starter, confident in working independently while coordinating with different stakeholders

Have excellent communication skills, capable of writing scientific marketing content and managing external partners
Key Responsibilities:

Lead the design and execution of the company’s marketing strategy across multiple platforms

Manage campaigns including digital content, PR, KOL engagement, webinars, exhibitions, and industry events

Oversee the creation of marketing materials such as website content, LinkedIn updates, brochures, press releases, and technical documentation

Collaborate with internal teams (Business Development, Engineering, Operations) and external vendors, printers, and event partners

Take ownership of all pre-launch and launch marketing initiatives
