Job Description
This role is ideal for a recent graduate aiming to break into marketing and sales within the retail and DIY sector. As a Graduate Field Marketing Executive, you will be entirely field-based. Unlike cold calling, your work will centre on managing existing customer accounts—around 35-45 retailers within a designated region—building strong relationships, and driving sales and promotional performance. You will be the brand’s face in stores, educating retail staff and end users about new products, preparing eye-catching visual merchandising setups, and implementing in-store promotions that support both brand awareness and sales uplift.
You will also support trade shows and events across the UK and occasionally in Europe to showcase the brand and build connections with both trade and retail partners. In your first year, expect immersive training in product knowledge, presentation techniques, visual merchandising, sales strategies, and territory management. Travel will be part of your weekly routine, and overnight stays will sometimes be required, particularly when attending larger events or supporting retailers further afield.
The working schedule for this position is Tuesday through Saturday during your initial 18 to 24 months, allowing weekends off at first within that span. Over time, as you gain experience, you may have more flexibility. You will report to the Field Marketing Manager and work hand-in-hand with the trade marketing, sales, and merchandising teams to align store performance with broader company goals. Success in this role will be measured on regional financial performance, retailer satisfaction, quality of in-store execution, and your capacity to support events and promotions that deliver measurable returns.
Outside of work in stores and event locations, part of your role involves planning visits, analysing competitor activity, preparing reports using sales data, and proposing improvements. You must be adaptable, resilient, enjoy working independently, and be excited by the opportunity to travel and manage your own time in the field. In return, you’ll enjoy excellent training, career progression, and an opportunity to work with a household brand in the DIY space.
