Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate and experienced SEN Tutors to support pupils across Cumbria through personalised 1:1 tuition in Maths and English. This flexible role offers a rewarding opportunity to help children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges rediscover their confidence and love for learning.
As a Part-Time SEN Tutor, you’ll work with pupils who are currently out of school, creating tailored lessons that inspire progress and engagement. If you’re patient, adaptable, and enjoy helping students overcome barriers to education, this role could be perfect for you.
Role Overview
Location: Lancashire – sessions take place in community settings or pupil homes (full safeguarding in place)
Hours: Around 10–20 hours per week, flexible between 9am–4pm during term time
Pay Rate: £25 – £30 per hour (based on experience)
Contract Type: Ongoing, part-time, flexible arrangement
Subjects: Maths and English (ability to deliver both subjects required)
Start Date: Immediate start available
Essential Requirements

Minimum of 2 years’ experience supporting pupils with SEN or SEMH in the UK

Proven ability to teach/tutor Maths and English following the UK curriculum

QTS preferred, but strong SEN tutoring backgrounds will be considered

Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Must be able to travel locally within Cumbria
